Missing DVDs

On-line DVD rentals - I do not know if you have heard of this or have been a member. It was started by NetFlix years ago. The way it works is you have a monthly subscription fee and you can rent as many DVDs as you can watch and return in a month. You can have out at one time as little as 3 and as many as 8 DVDs depending on how much you are willing to pay in monthly fees.

A day off. Yay!!

Whoa. I have not written anything here in more than a week, and I have hand full of topics to write about. I do have a reason for being MIA. I have been working some weird hours this week. For example I went to work yesterday morning, I started at 10 AM I did not get home till 2 AM this morning. Every time I come home after work I am so darn tired that I do not feel like doing anything. I just want to eat and go to bed, which by the way is all I have time for before I have to get up again and go to work.

Drop your pants … cough. Again!

Tonight I had a drug test and a physical done. I had to laugh about a question on the form for the physical. It asked if I am or have been exposed to vapors/fumes (gas). The reason I laughed about it is because I am. Dang, every time I step outside my house I am exposed to fumes. I asked the nurse there, if the question only referred to natural gas or did it encompassed many other gaseous elements, for example exhaust fumes. Her reply was “no”. It goes as far as poisonous/dangerous/toxic gases. To which I looked at her funny with a smile, and laughed. My reply was – “so, pretty much what I said before”. She in turn gave me a confused laugh with a mixed expression.

Oh yeah, and by the way I had to cough. HAHA

Funniest license plate I have seen to date!

I was on my way home yesterday afternoon after meeting up with some one for the day when I saw a pretty weird license plate on someone’s car. It is here that I should say I like to entertain myself, while I am in the car, by looking for custom plates on people’s cars and observing their creativity. I am really surprised by the number of custom plates I see here on daily base compared to the number I saw when I lived in New York or when I visited in New Jersey. Here they are incredibly popular. I believe it is in direct result of the dancer population.

Gorgeous Weather Today.

The weather here today is absolutely gorgeous. It is sunny and hot. I was able to go out and walk in the neighborhood without the need to wear a jacket or a hat. It is great! I have not been able to do that in weeks.
I went to get a newspaper earlier, and I was able to go out in just my sneakers and a sweater. It is so warm that I am sure I could have worn short pans. Even the wind was warm when I walked in the shadow of a building. Although the weather dude says that we are supposed to get snow tonight, I hope if we do it would be one of the last for the winter. It is time for the spring to start.

Oh Boy! What a joy!!!

Whoever said that the most expensive state is New York needs a swift kick in the head!

I just returned from a DMV office, which here by the way is called Vehicle Facility. I had to shed $143.00 to register my car and receive new plates and one year registration sticker for them. I also had to pay $37.50 for a city sticker, which is only valid till the end of June, 2005. I would have had to pay taxes on my car in addition to the above, if I had not bought it from out of state and I was not using it as my personal vehicle.

All of this is kind of expensive, but the whole process when smooth and fast. I am thankful for that. Yesterday I went to the bank and took care of business there, today I when and took care of my car situation. Now it is all good, two things off the list. Two or three left to do before I have to start a new one. That by the way is a long term list, not a daily to-do one!
